Stephanie Quirola

Stephanie Quirola (b. 1988) is a US-born, Ecuadorian visual artist and director of experimental performative installations based in Brussels. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (New York) and an MFA from the École de Recherche Graphique (Brussels), and completed postgraduate studies at SOMA (Mexico City) and La Cambre/Universite Libre de Bruxelles. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is part of the Museum of Modern Art in Bogota collection. In 2023, she received the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship.Her practice explores the dissolution of boundaries between humans, animals, and machines through multimedia, multisensorial installations and performance. Drawing on concepts such as hybridization, symbiosis and agential realism, her work examines contemporary rituals, temporal perception, and human-nature relationships within political, social, and technical contexts. Her work is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá.
